Who is The Gunsmith?

Andrew Kallman

The Gunsmith is internationally renowned for firearm repairing and customising. Based in South Africa, The Gunsmith holds over 30 years experience in the industry. We believe in safe practice with firearms when it comes to our services of accurising, repairing and customising guns.

About The Gunsmith

The Gunsmith himself, Andrew Kallman, served in the South African Defence Force from 1985 to 1987 as a No. 1 Machine Gunner in 7 SAI (South African Infantry) Phalaborwa. He was one of two national service men who received a gold badge for sharp shooting and was part of the South African army shooting team. During his service, Andrew completed first, second, and third phase training, before being deployed to Angola for three months in 1986. After completing a crash course in urban warfare, he served the rest of his military career in the townships. Andrew completed 12 out of 14 camps before the military was abolished.

In 1989, Andrew qualified as a fitter and turner. He then trained as a gunsmith at Roy Swayden and Associates for seven years. From 1996 to 2003, he owned three gun shops, and in 2003 he started a security company with a friend, selling his gun shops at that time. In 2008, he sold his shares in the security company and lived an adventurous lifestyle, enjoying hunting and spear fishing around the world. Gunsmithing and meeting fellow gun enthusiasts have always been his passions. Andrew has been a registered Gunsmith for 34 years and travels internationally to serve his clients.

Fun Facts:

Andrew is a 2nd Dan Karateka and the 2022 Gauteng Champion in South Africa, and is part of the South African team to compete.

He has Gauteng colors in spearfishing and karate. His motto is "We don't have problems, we have solutions."
